You can find them for around $20 per box of 50 rounds, and cheaper per-round if you buy in bulk. The most affordable 9mm rounds are usually 115-grain FMJ target and plinking loads. Just like any other load, 9mm ammo varies in price. If you’re wanting to shoot primarily through a suppressor and have the quietest report possible, heavier 9mm subsonic ammo will usually be your best choice. Still, it’s wise to match the grain weight of your carry or defensive 9mm ammo. If you’re wanting ammo to practice with, more affordable target or plinking ammo will be your best choice. Cheap FMJ or other 9mm target ammo is inferior. If you’re buying 9mm ammo for self-defense, you want quality bullets designed for optimal penetration and effective terminal performance. The most important thing to consider when you’re buying 9mm ammo is what you’ll be using it for. For example, you’ll find that 9mm ammo for self-defense is much different (and more expensive) than 9mm ammo for practice. There are many metrics by which ammo can be compared, and picking the very best is always going to be a matter of how you intend to use it. The 9mm now has comparable terminal performance to some more powerful cartridges. Even better, modern 9mm bullets have elevated these loads to the best 9mm ammo in history. It has a long and varied history, but it’s safe to say that even while enduring the current ammo shortage, shooters have a wide variety of 9mm ammo for self-defense and 9mm ammo for practice to choose from. It's said to help maintain an earthly connection with spirit even during spiritual ventures, creating a sense of balance between the two.Īdditionally, it's said that the eagle's eye gem can promote emotional balance. While the eagle's eye stone meaning and proposed metaphysical properties vary by belief system, most consider it a grounding stone. Eagle's Eye Stone Meaning and Metaphysical Properties It's similarly associated with being able to see the big picture, making it easier to navigate complex business situations and develop critical alliances. Hawk's eye is also connected with having a keen eye for identifying obstacles before they become problematic. Some also connect hawk's eye with astral travel. It's also considered an introspective stone that can help someone overcome challenges and develop intuition. However, many consider it a good luck charm and feel it assists in various spiritual matters and emotional healing. The meaning of hawk's eye and its associated metaphysical properties vary depending on a person's belief system. Hawk's Eye Stone Meaning and Metaphysical Properties However, people have since connected it to various spiritual meanings and metaphysical properties. Since its discovery was more recent than many other stones, there isn't a clear connection to a cultural significance in the region. He quickly registered his find in Britain, and the stone was formally dubbed pietersite. Sid Pieters noticed the stone while prospecting in the farmland of Namibia during the early 1960s. Generally, the eagle's eye stone isn't known for its long history or distinct mythology since it wasn't formally described until incredibly recently. However, some cultures associate it with good luck, wealth, energy, and protection. Since the stone is technically a newer discovery from a scientific perspective, there isn't much mythology associated with it, especially when compared to its golden brother, the tiger's eye. Naturalist and explorer Martin Hinrich Lichtenstein examined and described the stone and sent the minerals off for further evaluation in Europe. Hawk's eye was first collected during the early 1800s, with the initial pieces being unearthed in South Africa. Where Is Eagle's Eye Stone Found?Ĭurrently, there are two primary sources of the eagle's eye stone. However, deposits have also been located in Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Korea, Myanmar, Namibia, Spain, and the United States. Primarily, hawk's eye is found in South Africa and Thailand, and those locations serve as the main sources of commercial hawk's eye. Where Are Hawk's Eye and Eagle's Eye Stones Found? Where Is Hawk's Eye Stone Found? It also polishes well, leading to a slight glow, particularly when it's cut to accentuate the chatoyancy. Like hawk's eye, eagle's eye is usually opaque or mildly transparent. However, it maintains the blue-hued chatoyancy you would expect to see in the stone. As a result, the coloring is more varied than you find with hawk's eye or tiger's eye, often including shades of blue, gray, amber, and brown. What Is Eagle's Eye Stone?Įagle's eye is also called pietersite, and it's an aggregate of hawk's eye and tiger's eye. When the iron levels remain high, the color ends up golden, and that version is called tiger's eye. The coloring is a result of reduced iron levels as the crocidolite transforms. Hawk's eye is typically blue, with some pieces leaning toward gray while others may appear slightly green. Additionally, the fibrous elements create a visual effect known as chatoyancy. Generally, it's an opaque or slightly translucent stone that readily accepts a polish, resulting in a nice sheen. The hawk's eye stone is fibrous quartz, technically classified as a quartz pseudomorph that began life as crocidolite. Single cream: We will use single cream at two stages in our recipe.Ingredients for the white chocolate whipping ganache Wishing you a season of good cheer we all need it after the year we all had! □ If you haven’t don’t be nervous, have fun with it and watch the video below before you start. If you are familiar with any roll cake like swiss roll the process of the assembly is the same. Yule log is definitely not something to rush and requires attention to detail but the result is so rewarding and I personally love going the extra mile during the festive time for family and friends. This year I thought I will make a twist on the classic and create a black forest Yule log with chocolate sponge, boozy white chocolate whipping ganache(it’s Christmas right?!), amarena cherries and decadent dark chocolate ganache. People are very often overwhelmed by the process but it is just another fun project with a few steps and rules away from success. For garnish you can dust some cocoa powder and add some tempered chocolate for decoration.I don’t think Christmas is really here until I make my annual chocolate Yule log.Place the third and final merengue base on top and do the same.Place the 2nd merengue base on top and repeat with the ganache and coffee cream.Place one merengue base onto your serving plate, then pour 1/3 of the ganache, and evenly spread to the edges. Then slowly add in the cooled coffee (add more if you like a stronger taste) and then whip to stiff peaks. Whip up the cream along with the sugar and vanilla.Leave it in the fridge until ready to use.let it sit for 10 min, and then start mixing it slowly – at first it may seem as if it is splitting and not coming together, but just keep mixing and it will very quickly become a thick glossy ganache. Then in a small saucepan, add the cream and bring it to a boil – as soon as it starts boiling remove from the heat and immediately pour it over the chocolate. Put the chopped chocolate into a medium sized bowl along with the salt.Take them out and let them cool completely before removing from the baking sheet. Bake for roughly 40-50 min until the merengues are light golden brown. They can be larger if you like or if you can’t fit all three onto one tray then use two tray (you can bake them together in the oven just rotate the bottom tray to get an even bake). Once combined thoroughly, either using a piping bag or a spoon, pipe/spoon out three 6” discs onto the baking sheet. Take your crushed nuts and gently fold them into the merengue.Once they start becoming light and fluffy, add in the 150g sugar and mix on high u til you get a thick and strong merengue. Starting with the merengue – in a stand mixer or a large bowl with a handle held mixer, start whipping up your egg whites.Heat the oven on to 150C (300F) and line a baking tray with baking sheet.6 tbsp strong coffee, cooled (more if you like a stronger taste).200g hazelnuts, crushed and finely chopped (or any type of nuts you prefer). That’s how it tastes like! And I LOVE it! And if you are anything like me, you will love it too! □□ Honestly, it’s just chocolate chocolate some coffee and crunch and just more chocolate. However the taste is just YUMMMY! Outside of Sweden a Black Forest cake is known to be something different however in Sweden they have their own version – this one □ It’s basically nutty merengue bases filled with chocolate ganache and coffee cream decorated in tempered chocolate. Both to bake and to eat! So as most of my cakes it’s easy peasy. Honestly hands down one of my favourite cakes. The Apple Watch 7 also packs a slightly newer chip and faster charging Right now, the biggest differences between the Apple Watch 7 and the SE are the screen size and durability, both of which have seen large improvements with Apple’s latest flagship. Apple claims the watch is capable of charging 33% faster than previous Apple watches, offering around eight hours of sleep tracking from a quick eight minute charge. However, the Apple Watch 7 does take advantage of fast charging. The Apple Watch 7 and the Apple Watch SE feature the same 18 hour battery life, meaning you won’t get any more hours out of the new flagship. This means that both watches will include ECG, sleep and blood oxygen tracking, as well as the new WatchOS 8 features, including new message editing features, portrait mode photos on your watch face and access to the new Mindfulness app. The Apple Watch 7’s larger display also makes room for a full QWERTY keyboard.Īpple didn’t introduce any new health or fitness tracking sensors alongside the Apple Watch 7, so the Apple Watch 7 is likely to perform the same as the Apple Watch SE when it comes to health and fitness tracking. One difference is that the Apple Watch SE runs on the S5 chip introduced in 2019’s Apple Watch 5, while the Apple Watch 7 is powered by the slightly newer S6 chip launched in the Series 6 in 2020. Apple Watch 7 Specs and featuresĪs far as what’s going on inside the Apple Watch is concerned, the Apple Watch 7 and the SE are very similar. The Apple Watch E is available in Silver, Gold and Space Grey finishes, while the Apple Watch 7 is available in the more colourful Green, Blue, Product Red, Starlight and Midnight shades. Like the Apple Watch 7, the Apple Watch SE is water resistant up to 50 metres, but does not include any dust resistance rating or the crystal coating The Apple Watch 7 includes a new crack-proof crystal coating, is dust resistant up to IP6X and water resistant to WR50, making it the most durable Apple Watch yet. The Apple Watch 7 also features an Always-On Retina display – something that was available on the Apple Watch 6 but not the cheaper Apple Watch SE. The screen is also 20% bigger than the display on the Apple Watch SE which, like the Apple Watch 6, came in 40 and 44mm variants. This makes the Apple Watch 7’s display the largest Apple Watch screen yet at 41mm and 45mm. While the two watches look very similar with their straight edges and soft corners, the bezels on the Apple Watch 7 are thinner at just 1.7mm. Many of the updates coming to the Apple Watch 7 focus on it’s design, putting it a step ahead of last year’s SE in terms of display size and durability. That makes the 7 more expensive than the SE by £110. The wearable is priced at $399 (around £379), putting it at the same level as its predecessor, the Apple Watch 6. The Apple Watch 7, on the other hand, is Apple’s flagship smartwatch. He has authored several books including Wall Street Journal best seller Bourbon Curious. Now, I am a young adult who drank Monster and Rockstar Energy Drinks for years and I will be the first to say that anyone who can should cut these out of your intake. So they're saying a cup of coffee has 85-150mg of caffeine but lower in the same article claim that a cup of coffee has about 30.8mg of caffeine. Then they go on to say that 215 mg found in an energy shot is roughly 7 times the amount found in a cup of coffee. At one point they say that 600mg of caffeine is considered by the FDA to be a mostly safe daily dose, the equivalent of 4-7 cups of coffee. This article is interesting but not wholly consistent. So it's not just the caffeine its who is drinking the caffeine and what else they are taking. Lets just say that wearing a 21mg patch, mixing nodoze and redbulls while taking an antibiotic that increases the caffeine levels in the blood about 5 fold may net you a 3 day stay in the ICU with acute renal failure and atrial fibrillation and you miss those exams you are studying for. one really fucked up thing that I have seen as an ER physician in a college town is kids who decide that to stay up to study they should not only drink caffeine, but also use a nicotine patch (in non-smokers for whom it's a stimulant). People get into trouble when they use caffeine tablets or they mix caffeine with a drug that causes either increased levels of caffeine (tagamet, cipro, etc) or increased sensitivity to the adverse effects of caffeine (sudafed, theophylline, nicotine), or they are themselves more vulnerable to the effects (no tolerance, heart or thyroid disease, basic stupidity). Though you can get significant toxic effects at even 0.5g - but you don't do much other than try to chill out. So you probably can't kill yourself with coffee in most circumstances. Depending on your barista that's around 100 cups of brewed coffee at one go. The LD50 for caffeine is 150-200 mg/kg for an adult human (depending on tolerance). The things that do react are usually in very small quantity and just release bubbles into the solution around them (cakes and such) so that even if they were not included, the result would still be edible (as a cookie or a pancake or a scone). Most things (not all) are merely suspensions or solutions that don't directly react with eachother, so their concentrations and masses are fairly irrelevant to the outcome. Then you realize that most of the chemistry in cooking isn't between reactants, but is just in the actual cooking (heat, moisture, airflow). Later on, this event was dropped to 400 meters and was included in the first modern Olympics in Athens, Greece in 1896 but only for Men. The first track and field competition was held at Exeter College, Oxford, Great Britain in 1824 that included a quarter-mile race of 402 meters. Later on, the women’s 200 meter event was added up in the Olympics in the 1948 London Games. This event was included in the 1924 Olympics, Paris, as a Men’s track and field program. In 1896, at the first modern Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, the 200 m distance was officially set to begin but due to some circumstances the race was not held. This race is also known as the Long Sprint in which athletes run 200 meters as fast as possible. The first Olympic track events for women were held at the 1928 Olympic Games held at Amsterdam, Netherlands. It soon became as the star event of the Olympic Games, with the winner of the race known as the ‘fastest human being in the world’. The first 100 m run took place at the first modern Olympics in Athens, Greece, in 1896. Moreover, 60-meter sprint race is conducted in Indoor Championships. In track and field events, athletes start from blocks set in staggered positions (except in 100m in which all runners start behind the same line) and run in lanes. However, the term sprint is used in many sports that incorporate quickly reaching a target or a goal. Sprint is an athletic track event which involves running over a short fixed distance in the quickest time possible. |
